Does Caresource Cover Breast Pumps?

Does Caresource Cover Breast Pumps?

Did you know you can receive a free breast pump through insurance? It's true! And if Caresource is your insurance provider, you may have questions about the benefit plans available to you as a policyholder.

At Aeroflow Breastpumps, it's our mission to help mothers find success throughout pregnancy and their breastfeeding journey by providing the best motherhood equipment and supplies through insurance. This includes a wide selection of pumps and accessories, additional supplies, and compression garments. And because we're in-network with Caresource health insurance plans, we may be able to help you obtain the best insurance-covered breast pump to match your needs!

Caresource Breast Pump Coverage

The Affordable Care Act made it so that Caresource and other health insurance providers cover the cost of a breast pump. This is because pumps are considered a preventative benefit, so most are covered at little to no cost to you. Please note that exceptions apply for grandfathered plans and some self-funded plans.

Once you complete our Qualify Through Insurance Form, our team will follow a few simple steps to automatically check whether your plan covers additional motherhood essentials beyond the pump, such as replacement supplies, pregnancy and postpartum compression items, and lactation education and support resources.

What Other Benefits Are Covered by Caresource?

Like many health insurance providers, Caresource provides additional benefits that can greatly enhance your breastfeeding experience. See what else is covered by Caresource below.

Caresource Compression Coverage

Aside from covering your breast pump through insurance, Caresource also provides coverage for compression garments. These medical devices assist with postpartum healing and provide support, relief, and stabilization for increased comfort during pregnancy.

Most Caresource policyholders qualify to receive compression socks through insurance. Once you fill out our Qualify Through Insurance Form, we will automatically let you know what is covered under your policy.

Supplies, Extra Parts, and Accessories

Caresource coverage often includes one set of replacement parts, which you can receive 30 days after delivery. This benefit allows you to maintain the hygiene and functionality of your breast pump system, ensuring optimal performance.

If you don't replace your pump parts, residue can build up over time, leading to bacteria and mold that might contaminate your breast milk. Plus, your valves, membranes, tubing, or flanges may wear out or become stretched or cracked with use. This can impact the efficiency of your breast pump's suction, so having spare parts is critical to ensuring efficient milk expression.

That said, supplies coverage can vary based on where you live, and not all plans will cover a set of supplies. Check with your healthcare provider or connect with an Aeroflow Breastpumps specialist to find out what’s covered under your plan.
