Exercising While Pregnant

To keep you and your little one safe, follow these tips below for exercising during pregnancy.
  1. Stay hydrated! It is essential for you and your baby that you drink lots of water while exercising.  Not doing so can lead to contractions.
  2. Talk to your doctor. Your doctor can help you decide if exercising is okay for you during pregnancy.
  3. Comfort! This includes clothing and shoes as well.  Most women’s’ feet tend to swell during pregnancy so investing in a new pair of shoes is a good idea.
  4. Incorporate warm up and cool down exercises into your routine. This will help keep your heart rate in check and muscles sufficiently stretched. Don’t skip the stretching!
  5. Take it easy on yourself. Stay away from hazardous activities that could cause injuries.
  6. Have fun! Working out does not have to be boring.  Include your partner or other siblings.  Try something new.
