Swedish engineer Einar Egnell dedicated his life to helping breastfeeding mothers, and in doing so, more than 70 years ago, created the first pump of its kind (that mimics the sucking rhythm of nursing infants). Egnell also created the vacuum and cycling standards that lactation professionals use today to judge breast pump quality. Ameda’s pumps of today have combined this innovative technology with amenities that mom’s today find important. Ameda has been providing breastfeeding support to lactation professionals, institutions and mothers since 1942.

One of Ameda’s most popular pumps is the Ameda Purely Yours Ultra Tote (which you can purchase through Aeroflow Breastpumps for an amazing price!).

The Ameda Purely Yours Ultra operates on a closed system, which means it offers airlock protection to help protect breask milk and baby from bacteria, mold and viruses while pumping. This pump only weighs 8 pounds, and comes with a warranty (one year for the pump motor, 90 days for parts and accessories).

The Ameda breast pumps are also compatible with Medela bottles and milk storage containers (which is incredibly convenient per the popularity and commonality of these bottles and containers). Another popular Ameda breast pump is the Ameda Purely Yours (model number 17070PMW). The main difference between the two pumps is that the latter does not include as many amenities (such as the cooler toe, etc).

Many insurance companies cover these pumps, and others, at little-to-no cost to patients per the Health Care Reform Act.  Aeroflow Breastpumps can quickly and easily help you can find out if your policy covers pumps by simply completing our Qualify Through Insurance form.
