While some women take easily to breastfeeding and the process is extremely enjoyable, a true bonding experience, a good word to describe my one year of breastfeeding and pumping is “persevere.”

Embrace the journey that is motherhood, and remember that those stretch marks and sleepless nights may be stressful in the moment but are all SO worth it when your baby first smiles and giggles at you. Relax mama, you’ve got this!

There will be nights when you’re exhausted and you don’t think you can possibly drag your body over to feed them, do it anyways. There will be days where you’re ill and don’t want to even stand up, do it anyways. Please, in that moment remember how strong you are.

"As soon as the boys were born, the hospital staff got me pumping every three hours. It was very frustrating at first. With colostrum, very little liquid actually comes out. I would painstakingly scrape every drop I could into the small bottle...After the first day or so, I was able to breastfeed the boys.
